Before operating short-term, understand the property rules.
Vacation-rental eligibility and operating requirements can vary by city, building, association and property. Global Rent Apart can evaluate management fit, but owners should not treat a marketing page as legal, tax or regulatory advice.
Questions to answer before management onboarding.
Building / HOA
Does the building or association allow the intended rental activity? Are there registration, lease-length, guest-access or approval requirements?
Local requirements
Does the city or jurisdiction require licenses, registrations, tax accounts or other permissions for the intended use?
Insurance
Does the owner have coverage appropriate for the intended rental activity and property use?
Taxes
Which taxes are collected by booking channels, which are the owner's responsibility, and what filing obligations apply?
Guest access
What are the building procedures for parking, front desk, elevators, access credentials, IDs, deposits or amenity registration?
Owner use
How often does the owner plan to occupy the property, and how should those dates be blocked in the operating calendar?
This checklist is operational guidance only. Rules and requirements change, and owners should obtain professional legal, tax, insurance or regulatory advice where appropriate.
Already know the building rules?
Include them in your property review so the management conversation starts with better information.
